Texas Roadhouse Opening Date

 Smile The Texas Roadhouse restaurant is scheduled to open on June 9th.  Let’s give them a true Blue Springs welcome, and thank this business for choosing our city to locate their business.  This is the first of a number of new restaurants that will open over the next year as a part of the Coronado Place and Adams Dairy Landing developments.

Local Leader Appointed to Missouri Community Service Commission

On May 7, Mary Potter appeared before the Senate Confirmation Committee in Jefferson City.  Governor Matt Blunt had appointed her to the Missouri Community Service Commission as a Republican member.  Her term is from March 28, 2008 - December 15, 2010.  Currently there are 16 members on the Commission.  The commission effects and administers the National and Community Service Act of 1993.  It strives to make service and volunteerism a common expectation of all Missourians, with a special concentration on youth. Music in the Park Concert Series 2008

Summer is just around the corner and the city is preparing for its annual concert in the park series starting on May 25, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:30pm in Rotary Park at Railroad Lake at South 7 Highway & Vesper Street.  Zuver's Real Estate Services is sponsoring the Krazy Kats that evening.  Weekends throughout the summer will include a great selection of performers, see the following flyer for more information about the upcoming concerts!

The 3rd Annual Pooches on the Parkway dog walk and free expo will be held on Sunday, May 18th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Wilbur Young Park, 1200 SE Adams Dairy Parkway (adjacent to Blue Springs South High School).


Installation of downtown sidewalks

Drive Carefully! Sidewalk Installation Continues Along 10th Street Blue Springs, Mo. - A portion of 10th street North from Walnut Avenue to Main Street is experiencing increased workmen traffic due to the continued installation of sidewalks along 10th street. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling this area during the installation period. The installation of sidewalks along 10th street is made possible by funds received through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provided by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).The City of Blue Springs extends its thanks in advance for the community's cooperation during this project. Bond Task Force

Heritage Philharmonic Performance

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 7:30pm in the Blue Springs High School Performing Arts Center, you are invited to attend Spectacular Dances, the spring concert by the Heritage Philharmonic.  The orchestra will feature dances by Ravel, Dvorak, Copland, Saint-Saens, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov.  Tickets are available at the door:  $10 for Adults, $5.00 for High School and College Students, Children under 12 free.  For more information go to  More...

Texas Roadhouse

Work continues on Coronado Place and Adams Dairy Landing.  This week the council approved the liquor license for Texas Roadhouse which is an indicator that the restaurant will soon be open.  I will let you know when we have a firm date.
