Blue Springs shows steady progress

Progress is sometimes harder to see when it happens right around you. It is interesting to talk to someone who has been away from Blue Spring for a few years. They are more likely to see the progress that has occurred in town than those of us who are here every day.

Work continues on the Adams Dairy Landing shopping center. With the opening of R.D. Mize road on the south side of the project, Coronado Drive was closed to allow it to be rebuilt to handle the traffic that will frequent the shopping center when it opens. This project is breathing new life into the long stagnant Adams Dairy Parkway. It is exciting to see what other opportunities will be encouraged by the revitalization of the neighborhood that once occupied this site.

Planning Commission Meeting - July 14, 2008

Parkway PlaceThe commission recommended approval of the Parkway Place Planned Unit Development (PUD) that will bring a mix of office, commercial, and retail uses to the Adams Dairy Parkway.  More information about this project is available at http://www.aboutbluesprings.com/post/2008/06/Parkway-Place-Center---New-Offices-on-the-Parkway.aspx.

An alternative sign plan was approved for the McDonalds on north Highway 7.  This approval is related to the redevelopment of this McDonalds restaurant where a new building is planned to be built to replace the current building.  After much discussion the commission decided to allow McDonalds to retain their original pole sign.

Southridge Monument Sign  An alternative sign plan was approved for Southridge Shopping Center on south Highway 7.

Adams Dairy Landing Finally, an alternative sign plan was approved for the Adams Dairy Landing shopping center at I-70 and Adams Dairy Parkway.

Texas Roadhouse Opening Date

 Smile The Texas Roadhouse restaurant is scheduled to open on June 9th.  Let’s give them a true Blue Springs welcome, and thank this business for choosing our city to locate their business.  This is the first of a number of new restaurants that will open over the next year as a part of the Coronado Place and Adams Dairy Landing developments.
