Rep. Jeanie Lauer Named to House Majority Whip Team

Jeanie Lauer will serve as Deputy Whip for the 2013 Legislative Session

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Rep. Lauer, Republican-Blue Springs, was named to the Majority Whip team in the Missouri House this week – a position that will give him/her a more prominent role in determining the outcome of priority legislation. Lauer was named to the team by House Majority Whip, Rep. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo.

As part of the Majority Whip team, Lauer will be responsible for assisting Rep. Crawford in rounding up votes on critical issues and communicating policy positions to other members of the majority. As one of four Deputy Whips, Lauer will be responsible for coordinating the activities of 6 floor whips who will assist in informing caucus members on key issues and votes.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to play a much greater role in the legislative process,” said Lauer. “This position offers me a great opportunity to better represent the interests of the 32nd district. I look forward to working to help ensure the passage of legislation that will be of great benefit to the people in our area, as well as the entire state of Missouri.”

Lauer added that her new post allows her to become more involved in a wider variety of legislative matters.
